Pippa Shay

Pippa Shay, BA (Hons), DipHypPsyc. Is a solution focused psychotherapist and hypnotherapist.

Pippa can help you find the way forward when a problem has been affecting your life and well-being. This could be anything from a phobia or stress, relationship problems, habits you want to break, coping with grief, or problems from the past which are keeping you trapped.

Pippa believes that, while you may find that emotional problems have been part of everyday life, good therapy should teach you skills and develop abilities that you didn’t have before. It should also get you feeling better, more optimistic and have a greater sense of control. She will work alongside you to find the best way forward for you.
A good therapist works with empathy, like an emotional coach, teaching you skills and providing a combined therapy of all the best approaches, such as solution focused hypnotherapy, cognitive and behavioural approaches. Pippa uses hypnotherapy to break old habits, lay down new healthier patterns and for a release from stress.

Pippa trained with Uncommon Knowledge at Brighton University and for the past three years has been assisting on the UK Diploma course as a Supervisor for current students.

Pippa also recently studied with Roy Hunter in Parts Therapy, which is based on the concept that our personality is composed of a number of various parts. Parts Therapy is very effective when an obvious inner conflict prevents a client from achieving an important goal, such as quitting smoking.

Since December 2008 Pippa has also offered HypnoBirthing for parents to be.
